The End of the Beginning.

With every project, there comes a time when things go from taking apart to putting back together (or vice-versa) and I have now more or less reached that stage in regards to Flirt’s hull. I still have a few more bits of destruction to carry out, but on the whole, it is time to start putting her back together.

One of my usual eBay searches is for bronze hardware and lighting. Today, I found a nice brand new vintage Perko MastHead light. I say brand new because supposedly it is still in the original packaging and has never been installed on a boat. It will need some polishing before I can let it gracefully oxidize to a tasteful green, and I will need to rewire it to make sure it is reliable (and I do not want to climb the mast if it goes out), that is one more thing I can add to Flirt’s ever growing inventory of accessories or “boat jewelry”

Now I need to fabricate a mount.

A long time sailor who has been away from the water for too long, I am working hard to bring an old and abused boat back to life. When not working on my boat, I can often be found working as a Stage Hand in Atlantic City or just out and about on my Mountain Bike. I really come off as a quiet and boring person when people first meet me.
