Such a tool!

I have been a fan of Dewalt tools for a while now. I have used “lessor” battery powered tools for years and after using the Dewalt line up, I knew right then and there that it was time to upgrade and buy.

For Christmas, thanks to my ever patient Mom, I got my hands on a 20v circular saw. Wonderful piece of machinery and much better than the old one we had at a place I once worked at. Compared to that older Dewalt, it barely bogs and is very easy to lift up off of the work surface and place back down to change the angle of the cut. The fact that it is cordless/battery powered just goes a long way to making it even easier to use and far more convenient than a corded tool. As I am not a carpenter by trade, it’s battery life is not a draw back to me.

Next came a 20v drill. Nothing spectacular, it does not hammer or anything else, it is simply a drill. It is also the perfect size and weight for making large and small holes in confined spaces and for drilling screws. It is one of those “why didn’t I get this earlier?” tools.

Soon, probably next week when I get paid again, will be another 20v cordless tool added to the stable. The Jigsaw. Again, as I am not a carpenter by trade, it’s battery life compared to a corded tool is not an issue. It’s ease of use, weight, and convenience in being able to use it in places where it is difficult to draw a cord are what draws me to it.

Combine these with the corded more heavy duty tools I have, and I think I am almost ready to go… now about that planer.

A long time sailor who has been away from the water for too long, I am working hard to bring an old and abused boat back to life. When not working on my boat, I can often be found working as a Stage Hand in Atlantic City or just out and about on my Mountain Bike. I really come off as a quiet and boring person when people first meet me.
