Best supported deck

While there is no award for the best supported deck, I would like to think that Flirt would be in the running for those boats without a keel supported mast or without a compression post. Her Mast will be very well supported once it is raised back into position hopefully next year.

In looking at my work so far, I find it surprising how far I have come and how quickly. A few short months ago I had never played with any epoxy aside from the 5 minute type and now I am laminating deck beams with the stuff. Even the supports I put under the foredeck do not look all that good compared to what I can do now. I may need to pry them loose and redo them.. actually, I am certain I will do that, I hate worrying about something I can easily fix.

Before:

Messy Forepeak

Now:

Finished underdeck beam

A long time sailor who has been away from the water for too long, I am working hard to bring an old and abused boat back to life. When not working on my boat, I can often be found working as a Stage Hand in Atlantic City or just out and about on my Mountain Bike. I really come off as a quiet and boring person when people first meet me.
