Clean Mr. Clean

The Lazarette is not quite done, I still need to add another support against the hull on the Port side and the deck supports that span it, but I did manage to sand everything smooth and slap some paint on areas that will be hard to get at soon.

As in most of the inner hull.

That’s with only one layer of “Bilge Coat” there will be another. Until then, enjoy the blinding whiteness.

A long time sailor who has been away from the water for too long, I am working hard to bring an old and abused boat back to life. When not working on my boat, I can often be found working as a Stage Hand in Atlantic City or just out and about on my Mountain Bike. I really come off as a quiet and boring person when people first meet me.

Is that a limber hole in the lazarette? I thought the lazarette was to be watertight from the rest of Flirt. Love that name 🙂

    • If Flirt were an offshore boat, I would make sure the Lazarette was completely sealed from the rest of the bilge, but for light coastal and bay sailing, I would rather have control over water intake. As it was. Flirt came without any bulkhead at all between the lazarette and the rest of her, so this is a step up.
